The programs at CCI deeply reflect our principles, and most importantly the strength of our relationships with those in our community and our partnerships.

Providing Public Space and programs for residents to facilitate our ability to take control of our lives by addressing the root causes and systemic challenges of poverty is a priority for CCI. We build community involvement through a variety of techniques to poverty alleviation that lead to positive changes for our community. We are the only public space in the valley, available to area residents as well as for visiting guests. CCI is part of a local coalition who meets monthly, Tennessee Appalachian Community Economics (TNACE), whose mission is preserving our culture through hands-on education for ourselves and building community through shared knowledge and skills. Exploring ways to diversify the economic base in the Clearfork Valley through a variety of lens is our main priority. The Volunteers in Partnership (VIP) program is our leadership development initiative focused on training and empowering young adults to build life skills and take on leadership roles in the community. This program is comprised of an intergenerational, cross-class, and cultural mix of local constituents, known as our VIPs working together through shared governance on local initiatives to build the generational well-being of our environment and people, with hands-on practical skills.

The Settlement Design Program focuses on claiming public spaces for residents to gather, and private spaces, such as housing projects that brings together community members to collaborate on creating off-grid, locally sourced homesites. This program works with local constituents to define and design a healthy and vibrant rural culture and infrastructure.

CCI continues to address poverty alleviation through the lens of building food security within our surrounding communities. We address food security through our Anti-Hunger Program, which aims to ensure that no one in the Clearfork Valley go to bed hungry.

The Clearfork Community Grows Project was intended to strengthen local food security by supporting families interested in establishing individual gardens. On-site gardens are also available to provide education and demonstrations.

Our local Water Monitoring Project equips community members with the knowledge, instruments, and professional support to monitor local waterways and empower ourselves with the knowledge needed to protect our waterways and build true community wealth, which must include access to clean water, land and air.

CCI hosts college students through our Cultural Immersion Program, who want a cultural, environmental and social  immersion. Partnering with community members and VIPs, the week is spent in experiential learning and work projects.

What on Earth is going on in the Clearfork Valley, our monthly newsletter, concentrates on community-led popular education.

The Cyber Cafe is open two days a week for the community to have free internet access and receive instruction on a variety of digital tools. We provide laptops, printers and offer refreshments.

The NatureScape playground and the Sensory and Edible Landscaping is a new project at CCI that aims to provide families a space to explore and play together while learning about healthy local food and the local environment. The program will feature nature inspired play structures surrounded by edible and native plant landscaping.
